Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars

Lay Clerks are the older adults of the choir. They sing at all the Sunday services and rehearse from 7.30pm - 9pm each Friday. They have to be fluent sight readers. Any interested singers are welcome to meet the Director of Music.

Choral Scholarships are available to those boys whose voices have changed and who are learning the art of singing as a counter tenor, tenor or bass. Girls who have reached the Sixth Form are also eligible for Choral Scholarships.

Tony Pinel is our vocal tutor for choral scholars with changed voices.

They are supported by generous grants from the Friends of Cathedral Music and the Friends of the Music of St Peter's Collegiate Church.
