Training and Awards

As well as the normal training they receive through choir practices, new boys have a probationers’ practice each Monday from 6.00 to 6.30.

The Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) Voice for Life training scheme is in action. More experienced choristers have training sessions which enable them to progress through the different coloured medal ribbons. Training for the first two grades (the light blue and dark blue medal ribbons takes place from 7.30 – 8.00 on Mondays.

Training for the RSCM Awards schemes - Gold, Silver (Bishop’s) and Bronze (Dean’s) Awards - takes place on Mondays with Brian Armfield and the Rector.

There is extra vocal training for the Choral Scholars, available from our Director of Outreach, Marianne Ayling, and provided by the Friends of St Peter’s Music.
